Basic Content Analysis
Content analysis refers to the process that identifies and measures the specific content impressions your constituents are receiving through the media. QIA™ uses this process to identify how the opinions of your constituents are most likely being formed on topics and issues critical to your success. Providing this analysis on an almost "real time" basis is one of the ways QIA™ gives you the tools to get ahead of how opinion is being formed in time to manage it in more favorable directions.

Getting Started with Basic Content Analysis
QIA™ is an extremely flexible media analysis system that can stretch from very basic to very comprehensive, depending on your information needs. Basic Content Analysis offers a very sound and safe place to start your media analysis system. Building off of the information in your On-line News Libraries, it provides a wide range of basic, practical data, as well as a proven foundation on which your system can change and grow as your understanding and needs grow. And with Basic Analysis, the set-up time to get you up and running is very fast.

Basic Content Analysis Capabilities
Basic Content Analysis can give you a wide range of data:

  • The volume of media discussion, over any fixed period of time you choose – one day, week, month or quarter;

  • The trend in the volume of media discussion, which shows you whether this discussion is increasing, decreasing or staying the same over whatever period you choose;

  • The tonality of this media discussion, whether from the viewpoint of the "average consumer" or the "informed consumer" this media discussion is favorable to your organization, critical or neutral;

  • Impression type analysis – measure and analyze the volume and tonality of impressions generated by and delivered through various impression formats or "types" such as articles, editorials, ads, letters-to-the editor and op-eds;

  • Media analysis – analyzing the volume and tonality of the impressions from any or all newspapers, TV and radio stations and other media built into your collections process;

  • Byline Analysis – analyzing the volume and tonality of the impressions of each common reporter or editor over the period you choose;

  • Headline, byline and synopsis – each QIA™ record contains this information and through our on-line version is available for your review and analysis. In many ways, QIA™ is an on-line news clip storage system that puts all of this information at your fingertips 24/7 through your web browser, but also provides you with a powerful media analysis engine as well;

  • Any combination or "cross tab" of any criteria above – QIA's database gives you the ability to specify precisely what mix of factors you wish to analyze and then provides this information in clean, crisp, easy-to-read charts.
